Heart Attack Takes Life Of Russell McIntyre, 60
James Russell McIntyre, son of Thomas James and Marion Etta Russell McIntyre, was born January 26, 1913, on the family farm northwest of Elgin, where he died December 1, 1973, at the age of 60 years, 11 months, and five days.
Russell lived all of his life on the farm northwest of Elgin, and was actively engaged in farming at the time of his death. His formal education was received in the rural school and the Elgin High School.
On May 31, 1968, in the United Methodist church at Ogallala, he was united in marriage with Della Mann of Columbus.
Russell was a member of the United Methodist Church at Elgin and had held several church offices. He was a past master of Antelope Lodge #276 A. F. & A. M. at Elgin, and at the time of his death was Associate Worthy Patron of Avesta Chapt. #311, O. E. S. also of Elgin.
Survivors include his wife Della of Elgin; two stepsons: Jack G. and Robert Mann, both of Ogallala; four step grandchildren; three sisters: (Ethel) Mrs. William Miller, Oakdale; (Naomi) Mrs. Carl Burgin, Omaha, and (Alice) Mrs. Charles Wycoff, Denver; a number of nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tues., Dec. 4, 1973, at the United Methodist Church in Elgin with the Rev. Connie Buehler of DeWitt officiating. Music was furnished by David Doeschot, soloist, accompanied by Evelyn Doeschot, organist. Interment was made in the West Cedar Valley Cemetery with Antelope Lodge #276, A. F. & A. M. in charge of Masonic rites. Casket bearers included Julian Paul, William Paul, William Wylie, Milton Meis, Harold Miller, and Earl Filsinger.~Submitter, Volunteer researcher
