Anna (KECK) MCCLATCHEY

Following an illness of one week Mrs William McClatchey died Tuesday afternoon, April 10, 1917, at her home southwest of Oakdale. Pneumonia was the cause of death. Anna Keck was born in Know County, Ohio, December 25, 1865. In 1883 she was married to Edward Green and to them were born four children, three daughters and one son. She was married a second time to William McClatchey on December 3, 1895, and four sons were born to them. She is survived by her husband, eight children, three brothers and one sister. Mrs McClatchey was a good mother and a true wife and her loss to the home will be irreparable. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. C. F. Steiner, pastor of the Oakdale M. E. Church and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. There was a large attendance of old friends and neighbors. The bereaved husband and children have the sincere sympathy of the entire community.

Raymond MCCLATCHEY

Raymond MCCLATCHEY a former Cedar Creek boy, passed away last Thursday afternoon, March 2, 1933, in Newman Grove after a few hours of illness. He was twenty-six years old and was born and reared on his father’s farm on the Creek. After the death of his father and mother, he made his home with his half-sister, Mrs Ernest DURRE, until about ten years ago. For the past four or five years he has been employed in a filling station at Newman Grove. He died of complication following the flu. He leaves to mourn him his three brothers, Thomas of South Dakota, James of Meadow Grove and David of Martha and three half-sisters, Mrs Emma GARVEY of Pierce, Mrs Ida SMITH of South Dakota and Mrs Ernest DURRE of Martha. He was buried in the Oakdale Cemetery Saturday afternoon beside his mother and father.

WILLIAM MCCLATCHEY

After being in poor health for a year or more, William MCCLATCHEY passed away at Hot Springs, SD on Saturday September 15, 1917. He had gone there for treatment only a week previous and at the time of his departure his condition was not considered critical. His collapse was sudden and his death was a Shock to relatives and numerous friends. The remains were brought to Oakdale Monday and the clay following were buffed in the Oakdale Cemetery beside his wife, whose death occurred April 10 of the present year. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. A. FLETCHER of the United Brethren Church. William MCCLATCHEY was bom in Ireland, February 12, 1856 and when a lad of 16 years came to the United States. After a brief residence in New York he came to Nebraska where he lived the remainder of his life. On December 3, 1895 he was married to Anna KECK GREEN and to them were bom four sons, all of whom survive their parents. In early life, Mr MCCLATCHEY joined the Presbyterian Church.
