Albert Nelson MAHOOD
Funeral services for A. N. Mahood, 63, were held Saturday afternoon at the U.B. church in Orchard conducted by the local minister, Rev. C. Wantz, to which a large number of relatives and friends were in attendance. Albert Nelson Mahood was born July 20, 1875 at Pittsburgh, Pa., and died at his home in Orchard, Aug. 10. When he was 2 years of age, the family moved to Petersburg, where the father died when Mr. Mahood was 12 years old. In his early youth, he became a member of the Star United Brethren Church, near Oakdale. Later transferring his membership to the Neligh Methodist Episcopal church, where the family made their home in 1893. For several years Mr. Mahood conducted a bicycle shop in Neligh. In 1900, he moved to Oklahoma where he lived for several years, then returning again to Neligh. In 1909 he came to Orchard, entering the implement and automobile business with his brothers in which he remained a partner until his death. On January 12, 1912, he was married to Marcella Lambert of Elgin. To them two children were born, Marie Leona and Albert L., both of whom with Mrs. Mahood survive him. Besides these, he is survived by three brothers, Robert F. of Stamford, Tex., Wilbur of Orchard, and Calvin of Neligh; one sister, Mrs. Frank Payne of Neligh, and a cousin, Mrs. Jennie McMahan of Arlington, Kan., who was reared from childhood by Mr. Mahood's parents. He served for many years as one of the trustees on the Orchard town board and was chairman of this body at the time of his death. He was an honorary member of the local fire department and had belonged to the I.O.O.F lodge for almost twenty-five years. Burial was made in the local cemetery.

Cal MAHOOD Rites Sunday
C.G. Mahood, 77, prominent businessman of Neligh for many years, died at his home in Neligh early Thursday morning following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Neligh, with the Rev. Lisle Mewmaw officiating. Mr. Benny Johnson was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Marguerite Carnes. Burial was in the Orchard Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Alfred Brodersen, A. A. Pagel, Jr., Gurney Gentzler, Don Wilson, H. A. Tilton and Theodore Weber. Calvin George Mahood, son of James N. and Ellen Mahood, was born near Petersburg, Nebraska, July 7, 1882, and died at his home in Neligh on Dec. 17, 1959. At an early age he became a member of the Star United Brethren Church, where his family attended services. The family moved to Neligh in 1893 where he attended the public school and later graduated from Gates Academy in 1906. After graduation he entered the employ of M.O. Dixon, in the implement business, and assisted with the construction of the building where he later conducted his own automobile business for a number years. In 1909 he and his brother, A.N. Mahood, entered into the implement business at Orchard, later being joined by J. W. Mahood, when they engaged in the automobile sales and service business. He and his brothers erected and operated the first electric light plant at Orchard and also operated a plant at Allen, Nebraska. While at Orchard he was very active in the civic and business interests of the town. In the early 1930s he moved his automobile sales and service business to Neligh, into the building where the Jack and Jill store is now located. Having rented his building to the present occupant, in 1956, he moved his garage along side Highway 275 in the east part of Neligh where he remained until this fall when he moved back up town to his own building just west of the Jack and Jill store. He continued to operate here until a short time before his death. On April 16, 1924, at Sioux City, Iowa, he was married to Miss Mary Fraim and they made their home in Orchard for several years. To this union one daughter, Ellen Louise, was born. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Robert Mahood of Stanford, Texas and Albert Mahood of Orchard, Nebraska. Surviving are his wife, Mary, of Neligh; and his daughter, Mrs. John Schlight of the Air Force Academy, Colorado; three grandchildren; one brother, J. W. Mahood of Orchard; one sister, Mrs. Mary Payne of Neligh; and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives beside a host of friends.
James Wilber MAHOOD - Obituary
James Wilber Mahood, son of James N. and Ellen Mahood, was born near Petersburg, Nebraska, September 26, 1880, and passed away at his home May 12, 1961 after a lingering illness at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 1 day. He attended country school near the old homestead at Petersburg. His father died when he was a small boy. Wilber, with his three brothers, one sister and mother continued with farming until they moved to Neligh, Nebraska in 1893, where he finished his education. He attended Gates Academy and received his degree in 1906. In 1912 he moved to Orchard and joined the auto -mobile and electric light business with his brothers Calvin and Albert. He and his brothers operated the first electric light plant in Orchard and also operated
a plant at Allen, Nebraska. He was married in 1915 to Nora Fraim and to this union was born a daughter, Wilma Mae. On January 29, 1926 his wife passed away, and on August 24, 1933 he was united in marriage to Sarah Milburn Memberson of Orchard. Wilber was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, a member of the Diamond Lodge No. 291, of Orchard and also a member of the Eastern Star. For several years he held the office of treasurer of the Masonic Lodge. He served on the town board and was active in the civic and business of the town.
After thirty-seven years in the Ford Garage business, he retired. He and his wife, Millie, continued to reside in Orchard. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, Robert of Stamford, Texas, Albert of Orchard, and Calvin of Neligh. Surviving are his wife, Millie, of Orchard and his daughter, Mrs. Elmond Holbrook, of Livermore, Calif; three grandchildren, Linda., Jim, and Cheryl Holbrook; one sister, Mrs. Mary Payne of Neligh, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives besides a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the E.A.B. Church in Orchard, with the Rev. Mallette, former pastor, in charge.

Mary Elizabeth MAHOOD
Mary Elizabeth Mahood, a long-time resident of Antelope County, died at Oak Meadow Nursing Home in Alexandria, Virginia, on Sunday, January 25, 1987 at the age of 92. She was born in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Frank F. and Jemima Fraim, on December 23, 1894. After teaching in rural schools near Orchard, Nebraska, she married Calvin George Mahood in Sioux City, Iowa on April 16, 1924. To this union one daughter, Ellen Louise, was born. For many years Mrs, Mahood lived in Neligh where she attended the Methodist Church. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and a Past Worthy Matron. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Schlight of Alexandria, Virginia, her brother Dewey Fraim of Liberal, Kansas, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
