ANDREW OLSON LINNAUS
Abridged: Andrew OLSON LINNAUS was born September 30, 1843 at Jarbo Gefelborgs Land, Sweden and passed away August 20, 1932 at his home south of Oakdale, Nebraska. He was the third child of Ole and Bertha OLESON of which there were five children, four preceding him in death. The only brother, Larse, has lived with him for fifty years. Andrew came to America in 1868 and settled in Chicago. Later he settled in Fairfield, Iowa. On March 1, 1871 he entered a College of Physicians and Surgeons at Keokuk, Iowa, graduating and receiving his degree. He went to Carver, Minnesota where he was employed in a drug store for two years. In 1874 he came to Omaha. In 1876 he came to Antelope County and filed on a homestead. He was married to Matilda SWANSON on June 15, 1889. One son, Fred D was born to this union. Those surviving him are his wife, son, Fred D and one brother, Larse LINNAUS and two grandchildren, Alida and Vernon. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Star Church and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.

FRED D. LINNAUS
Services for Fred D LINNAUS, 92, Oakdale, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Methodist Church. Alvin SCHWARTING will officiate with burial in the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before service at the church. Mr LINNAUS died December, 13, 1982. He was born April 8, 1890 on a farm seven miles south of Oakdale, where he lived all his life. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs Alida HALL of Tilden and one son, Vern of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ida and six grandchildren.

Ida J (JENSEN) LINNAUS
Funeral services for Mrs Fred D Linnaus were conducted at the Methodist Church Thursday afternoon with Rev A. R. Murcoch in charge, assisted by Rev. A. R. Fletcher. Ida J Jensen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Peter W. Jensen, was born at Blair, Nebraska, June 154, 1889 and passed away on March 5, 1951 at the age of 61 years. She was the second in a family of eight children, two of whom preceded her in deaths; a sister, Mrs Alida Burkhead and a sister Agnes who died in infancy. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Blair. In 1900 her family moved to a farm in the Star Community south of Oakdale. In her youth she was joined the Star United Brethren Church. On January 28, 1918 she was united in marriage to Fred D Linnaus at the home of her parents. Three children were born to them. A son, Lloyd D, died at the age of seven months. Mrs Linnaus was graduated from Oakdale High School in 1907 and later attended Omaha Commercial College. She taught in Antelope County schools for seven years. Throughout her life, she was very active in Star church and community and school affairs. She served as president of the Star Ladies Aid, taught Sunday school and was especially interested in foreign missions. Even during later years, despite failing health, she was a faithful member of the church and took as much part in church activities as her health permitted. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs Alida Hall of San Francisco, a son, Vernon of Oakdale, one granddaughter, Margaret Ann Hall, two sisters, Mrs Christina Drake of Omaha and Mrs Clara Murphy of Twin Falls, Idaho, three brothers, James C Jensen of Wheatland, ND and John and Frank Jensen of Oakdale. Twelve nephews and nieces also survive.

LARS LINNAUS
Lars LINNAUS was born at Jarbo, Gefelsborg Land, Sweden, on January 4, 1855 and passed away at his home south of Oakdale, March 30, 1934. He was the youngest of five children of Ole and Bertha OLSON, his three brothers and only sister having preceded him in death. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in his native land at an early age and was still a member of that Church. He came from Sweden to Oakdale, Nebraska in 1881, coming to the home of his brother, Andrew, with whom he made his home until his brother’s death in August 1932. Since that time he has made his home with his nephew, Fred LINNAUS. In 1908 he made a trip to Sweden, spending three months among the scenes of his childhood. He had been in poor health for several years, although his last illness was of only a week’s duration. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 1, at the Star Church. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery.

Lloyd David LINNAUS
Lloyd David, son of Mr and Mrs F. D. Linnaus, was born October 25, 1918 and died May 17, 1919, aged 6 months and 22 days. Funeral services were held Monday at the home, conducted by Rev. C. L. Myers, and burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.

MATILDA SWANSON LINNAUS
Matilda SWANSON was born June 25, 1850 at Kisa Ostergarth, Sweden and passed away at her home in the Star neighborhood Friday morning, January 27, 1933. At the age of twenty five years she came to America, locating at Mt Pleasant, Iowa, where she worked in a seminary for two years, going from there to Cambridge, Illinois, where she remained for five years. In 1882 she went to Oakland, Nebraska, working there for a time and later she worked in Albion, Nebraska for six years. On June 15, 1889, she was united in marriage to Andrew O LINNAUS. To this union was born one son, Fred D, who survives her, her husband preceding her in death five months ago. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Alida and Vernon LINNAUS, one sister in Sweden and a brother-in-law, Lars LINNAUS, who has made his home with them for the past forty-five years. She was a kind and loving mother, a good wife and a generous and openhanded neighbor, always giving of her substance to those in need. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Star Church. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery beside her husband.
