Mrs. Vera Lehmer, 75, Dies;
Interred Monday
Vera Ann Lehmer, daughter of George H. and Ruth Etta Brown Alderson, was born on the farm four miles northeast of Elgin, July 29, 1895, and passed away at the Tilden Community Hospital March 26, 1971, at the age of 75 years, seven months and 27 days.
Services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, 1971, at the United Methodist church in Elgin, with the Rev. Connie J. Buehler, Pastor, officiating. Rev. Buehler also served as vocal soloist accompanied by Mrs. Donald Genrich, organist. Interment was made in the West Cedar Valley Cemetery with Perry Payne, William Wylie, Walter Robertson, Roy Schmidt, Ed Mackel and Wilbur Schuchardt serving as casket bearers.
On Nov. 11, 1935, a Niobrara, she was united in marriage with Alfred Lehmer of Petersburg. This couple lived on a farm northeast of Elgin for a number of years, and for several years on a farm southwest of Petersburg. When they retired in 1954, they moved to their home in Elgin, where Mrs. Lehmer has since resided until about a year ago when she became a resident of Manor Hall, at Tilden.
Mrs. Lehmer was a member of Avesta Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, the West Cedar Valley Aid, and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Chester Schuchardt of Elgin; sister-in-law, Mrs. William Lehmer, Sedalia, Mo.; nieces and nephews: Mrs. Delno Johnson, Bev and Ed, William and Lois Schuchardt, Rick, Janice, Cathy Jo and Tom Allan, Irvin and Jean Lehmer, Nan and Dudley, and Orville and Mary Catherine and family; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Fred Alderson.
