Obituary-The Oakdale Sentinel-May 28, 1936
CARRINGTON FULLER LANPHERE
Abridged: Carrington Fuller LANPHERE was born in Erie, Illinois, February 28, 1903 and passed away at the Military Avenue Hospital in Fremont, Nebraska on May 22, 1936 as a result of injuries received when he fell from a scaffold. Con, with his parents, moved to Nebraska in 1910. He started school in York where he continued for five years. From that time on the family moved to various towns. In Emmett he took up telegraphy, working at various places including Oakdale. He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1924. He attained high scholastic honors and was active in athletics. On July 19,1926, Con was married to Marjorie NIES at Columbus, Nebraska. To this union were born two daughters, Maxine now nine and Janis aged fourteen months. The family moved to Seattle, WA but returned to Nebraska, settling at Waterloo for five years and then back to Oakdale. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs F. L. LANPHERE of Waterloo, two brothers, Fred of Omaha, and Lee of Waterloo, a devoted cousin, Levi LOREMAN of Omaha and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Church of Christ followed by burial in the Oakdale Cemetery.
