Jessie Douglas Lakey, 1890-1951
JESS LAKEY DIES at STERLING, COLO.
Jess Lakey was born July 9, 1890, at Kansas City, Missouri, and died in St. Benedict Hospital, Sterling, Colo., on July 14, 1951, following a short illness.
Mr. Lakey was married to Edna Hannen on November 27, 1909, at Madison, Nebr. His wife and two daughters survive. The daughters are Mrs. Niel Suhr of Burbank, Calif., and Mrs. Albert B. Jasper of Sterling, Colo. Other survivors are three grandchildren, one sister and several brothers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 17th from Radford Funeral Chapel at Sterling, Colo., with interment in Riverside Cemetery there.
Mr. Lakey and his family were residents of Elgin, Nebraska, a number of years. Mr. Lakey operating a bakery here.

SERVICES ARE HELD FOR JESS LAKEY
Services were held Tuesday at Radford Funeral chapel for Jess Lakey, 61, of Sterling, who died Saturday in a local hospital. Burial was at Riverside.
Mr. Lakey, a retired baker, had moved here five months ago. He was born at Kansas City, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Lakey of 117 Columbine street; two daughters, Mrs. Albert B. Jasper of Sterling and Mrs. Niel Suhr of Burbank, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Aninch of Haxtun, Colo. and four brothers.
