Funeral Rites Saturday For Mrs. Walter Koinzan
Eunice Koinzan, daughter of Sidney and Adda Henderson Wells, was born July 25, 1906, at Burr Oak, Kans., and departed this life Dec. 4, 1973, at Tilden Community Hospital, at the age of 67 years, four months and nine days.
She grew to womanhood at Burr Oak and taught school for three years in Kansas before moving to Nebraska in 1926.
In 1928 she was united in marriage with Walter J. Koinzan. To this union two sons and one daughter were born. The early years of her marriage were spent on a Beaver Valley ranch west of Elgin, Neb., and in 1932 the family moved to Elgin, where they have since resided.
Mrs. Koinzan, with her husband and sons, was actively engaged in the operation of the Koinzan Seed and Flying Service and other enterprises until the time of her death. She was a member of the Elgin United Methodist church and Avesta Chapter #311, Order of the Easter Star.
Survivors include her husband; her daughter (Delpha) Mrs. John Wheelock, Piedmont, Calif.; two sons: Duane and Lee, both of Elgin; 11 grandchildren: Steve Koinzan, of Lincoln; Vickie Koinzan Moser of Leigh; Randy, Janet, Pamela, Leigh Jean, Lynn, and Alyssa Koinzan, all of Elgin; and Kathy, James and Mary Wheelock, of Piedmont, Calif. Also one great grandson: Heath Koinzan; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Parsons, Burr Oak, Kans.; three brothers, Clifford Wells, Yakima, Wash., Martin Wells, Los Angeles, Calif., and Sam Wells, Coulterville, Calif.; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
Services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 1973, at the United Methodist church in Elgin with the Rev. Lester V. Anderson of Albion officiating. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. David Doeschot accompanied by Mrs. Donald Genrich, organist. Interment was made in the West Cedar Valley Cemetery with Keith Hughes, Dennis Hughes, Dennis Wells, Steven Koinzan, Randall Koinzan and Don Moser serving as casket bearers.
