FLORENCE L. KINNAN HOYDA
Services for Florence L HOYDA, 86, Oakdale, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Oakdale. The Rev. Gary MAIN will officiate with burial in the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. She died Thursday, December 17, 1992, at Antelope Memorial Hospital. She was born June 1, 1906, in the Star community south of Oakdale, the daughter of Charles and Mary (DEMSEY) KINNAN. She attended Sunshine School near Oakdale. On February 15, 1926 she married Joseph HOYDA at Oakdale. They did interior decorating work, wallpapering, and painting. She also had been employed by the Neligh-Oakdale schools. Survivors include a son, Charles of Artesia, California, daughters, Mrs Dean (Betty) BROWN and Mrs Don (Glenice) POLLOCK, both of Oakdale, 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, brothers, Floyd KINNAN of Oakdale and Harry "Butch" KINNAN of Arcade, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and one grandson.

JOE HOYDA
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 25 at Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden for Joe HOYDA of Oakdale, who died Sunday, April 22, 1973, in the Tilden hospital at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 18 days. Alvin SCHWARTING, pastor of the Oakdale Church of Christ, officiated at the service and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were F. R. AUGHE, Donald OFE, Paul SONNENFELT, Darryl BRETZ, Ole ENGELSON and Don OBERSHAW. Joe HOYDA, the son of Joseph HOYDA and Margaret hall, was born, January 4, 1905, in Bohemia. At the age of four he came to the United States with his parents and they settled near Hay Springs. In 1925, he moved to Oakdale where he spent the rest of his life. On February 15, 1926, he married Florence KINNAN at Oakdale. He had farmed, worked in an elevator and for the railroad until later years when he did interior decorating and carpenter work. Survivors include his widow, Florence; one son, Charles of Artesia, California; two daughters, Mrs Dean (Betty) BROWN and Mrs. Don (Glenice) POLLOCK, both of Oakdale; five sisters, Mrs Carl (Barbara) HAGEDORN, Mrs Frank (Christine) KUDOS and Mrs Marshall (Emma) REEVES, all of Hay Springs, Mrs Joe (Sylvia) CONNOT of Valentine and Mrs Charles (Anna) TUCK of Hemingford; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cleo; and infant sister and two brothers, George, and one in infancy.
