LITTA LUCILE PADDEN GRAVES

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Nazarene Church in Oakdale for Mrs W A GRAVES, 74, who died May 16, 1956, at the Tilden Hospital. The Rev. Orin WATSON officiated at the services. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Litta Lucile PADDEN was born September 28, 1882 to Mr and Mrs Robert PADDEN at Fredricksburg, Iowa. She was brought to Oakdale at an early age by her parents. After her mother’s death she was brought up by Mrs Jennie CAMPBELL. She attended Oakdale grade school and later learned the millinery trade. She was married November 22, 1901 to William GRAVES and two children were born to this couple. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Zelma Zee, her parents and a brother, Frank. Survivors include her husband and son, Billy Zan, of Des Moines, Iowa, two brothers, Leon PADDEN of Council Bluffs and Paul PADDEN of Frankfort, Kansas, two sisters, Ruby ROBBINS of Los Angeles and Vera WAGNER of Chino, California. Pallbearers were R. A. BUCK, W. MORRIS, William ALMSTRUM, Earl MCNARE, Guy TAYLOR and Fred DWORAK.

WILLIAM ARTHUR GRAVES

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Church of the Nazarene in Oakdale for William Arthur GRAVES, 80, of Oakdale, who died Thursday, May 31, 1956, in the Tilden Community Hospital. The Rev. Orin B WATSON officiated at the services and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Clemet COWIN sang two vocal selections accompanied by Arnie SORENSEN. William Arthur GRAVES was born to James H and Julia R GRAVES, March 10, 1876 in Monon, Indiana. As a boy of 16 he took his first job, working as call boy on the Monon railroad in Indiana. He was transferred to Oakdale in 1898. On November 12, 1901 he was married to Litta Lucile PADDEN and two children were born to this couple. He was preceded in death by his wife, May 16, 1956 and by his daughter, Zelma Zee, four brothers and one half-brother. Survivors are his son, B. Z. GRAVES of Des Moines, Iowa and two sisters, Mrs Olive LAUDER and Mrs Robert MURRAY of Silver Creek, Nebraska.
