AMANDA STUFF FOLTZ
Amanda STUFF was born near Mount Morris, Ogle County, Illinois, March 5, 1846 and departed this life at Oakdale September 29, 1927, aged 81 years, 6 months and 24 days. She moved with her parents to Pine Creek, Illinois where she resided until she was United in marriage to Jacob L FOLTZ on December 1863, moving at that time to Cherokee, Iowa at which place they resided until 1882 when they came to Nebraska where she has since resided. She leaves to mourn her death one son, V. J. FOLTZ of Oakdale, one sister, Mrs Adaline LEGGETT of LAWTON, Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Her husband and one daughter, Mrs A. E. BICKFORD preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the house Saturday afternoon, October 1 and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.

JACOB L. FOLTZ
Jacob L. FOLTZ died at his home in this city Sunday night (July 11, 1920). Though he has been in poor health for some time the illness from which death resulted was of short duration. Funeral services were held Tuesday (July 13, 1920) afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. C. L. MYERS, and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. The deceased was born at Boonsboro, Maryland, June 16, 1838. He was married to Miss Amanda STUFF at Rockford, Illinois, on December 29, 1863. Here the couple resided for two years and their first child was born. Their first move was to Iowa where they made their home for about ten years and the home was again blessed in the birth of a second child. The family came to Nebraska and in 1882 located on a farm nine miles south of Oakdale. Early in 1905 Mr. and Mrs. FOLTZ removed to Oakdale and here they have since resided. The deceased was associated with the Dunkard Church in his early-married life. His life was smooth and even-tempered and he was never known to speak unkindly of any one. He was a lover of his home and was seldom absent. His friends were numerous and he was respected and esteemed by the citizens of the entire community. He is survived by his wife, daughter, Mrs. E. A. Bickford, and son, V. J. FOLTZ, to whom the sympathy of the community is extended. From article published June 18,1920. Sons, J.L. FOLTZ and Charles FOLTZ, his daughter Mrs. E. A. Minnie Belle FOLTZ
Minnie Belle Dolph was born at Dysart, Iowa, July 29, 1868, and passed from this life to life eternal, March 6, 1947, aged seventy-eight years, seven months and seven days. When about fifteen years old she came with her family to Loretto, Nebraska. Her early womanhood was spent teaching school in Boone County.
On March 10, 1889, she was united in marriage to Victor J. Foltz. Had she lived until the following Monday they would have been married fifty-eight years. The greater part of her life was spent in northeast Nebraska, in and around Oakdale and Elgin. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since childhood and served the church in many capacities, as Sunday School teacher, trustee, clerk of the Session and as an elder. Mrs. Foltz was the first woman to be elected and ordained an elder in the Presbyterian Church in Nebraska and among the first in the United States. She was a charter member of the Elgin Woman’s Club in which she was active for many years. Her husband, her daughter, Iola Reimund and son-n-law Allyn W. Reimund, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends survive her. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 8, in the Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Charles Light of Norfolk, who was assisted by Rev. J. C. Jorgensen. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Relatives and friends from out of town attending the funeral were: Lowell Bickford and Miss Katheryn Bickford, St. Edwards; Mrs. Thomas Lorenzen and Mr. And Mrs. Carsten Lorenzen and Wanda Lorenzen, Neligh; Mrs. John Donner, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fallesen, Mrs. James Lodge and Mrs. Fred Koinzen, Elgin; Mrs. Eda E. Romberg, Scribner; Mr. and Mrs. George Surber, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Patterson, and Mesdames Roy Pilgrim, Robert Croft, Earl Briard, Harry Hoffman, Edwin Dagendorfer and Charles Light, all of Norfolk.

Victor Jay FOLTZ
Abridged: Funeral services were held for V. J. (Jerry) Foltz at the Nazerene church on Tuesday. Mr Foltz passed away at Omaha on Saturday. Out of town friends attending the funeral were Mr and Mrs Ed Gauger, Mrs Earl Bullock and Mrs Bert Maupin of Omaha. Victor J Foltz was born in Victor, IA on April 1, 1868, the son of Jacob and Amanda Foltz. At an early age the family moved to Madison County and then to Antelope County where they homesteaded near Oakdale. He married Minnie Belle Dolph on March 10, 1889 and they had one child, Iola. Mrs Foltz died March 6, 1947. In failing health for several years, but always active and busy, he began to fail rapidly during the last six weeks. He passed away in Omaha on December 6, 1952. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery
