Carl FALLESEN
Funeral services for Carl Fallesen, 99, of Neligh, were held Monday, Sept. 18, at the First Congregational Church in Neligh. The Rev. Bryce Hecht officiated.
Burial was at Laurel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral Home of Neligh. Pallbearers were Mike Drahota, Richard Eilers, Jeff Frank, Leroy Shabram, Dennis Hansen and Uen Furstenau. Carl Fallesen, son of Niels and Emma (Hansen) Fallesen, was born July 30, 1896, at Neligh. He lived all his life in Antelope County where he farmed. He was a member of the Congregational Church. On February 18, 1925, he married Gertrude Carstensen at Tilden. She died in 1994. Mr. Fallesen died Thursday, Sept. 14, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include a son and his wife, Nick and Esther Fallesen of Wyoming; and a sister-in-law, Erna Fallesen of Neligh.

Gertrude FALLESEN
Funeral services for Gertrude Fallesen, 89, of Neligh, were held Saturday, January 15, at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Bryce Hecht officiating. Burial was at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh under the direction of Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Merlin Hansen, Mylan Tassemeyer, Jeff Frank, Richard Eilers, Mike Drahota and Walt Hansen. Gertrude Carstensen, daughter of Nicholas and Emma Carstensen, was born June 13, 1904, in Germany. She married Carl Fallesen February 18, 1925, in Tilden. They farmed east of Neligh and moved to town 18 years ago when they retired. She was a member of the Antelope Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Neligh Senior Citizen Center, Goldenrod Hills Advisory Committee and the Congregational Church. Mrs. Fallesen died Wednesday, January 12, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Esther Fallesen of Arizona; and a sister-in-law, Erna Fallesen of Neligh.
