Alvin CLARK Rites are Held at Norfolk

Funeral services for Alvin David CLARK, who died at the Perry Rest Home in Norfolk on July 14, were held Wednesday from the Hillview Chapel in Norfolk. Burial was in Prospect Hill cemetery. Alvin David, son of Mr. and Mrs William Clark was born January 10, 1881, at Blanchard, Iowa and died July 14, 1958, at Norfolk, Nebraska., at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 11 days. At the age of seven he moved with his parents from Iowa to a
ranch north of Elgin, Nebraska. On August 26, 1900 he was married to Anna Barnes and six children were born to them. Surviving are: his wife, Anna: three daughters, Mrs Velda Sherman, Pierce, Nebraska, Mrs. Helen Carlson of Norfolk, and Mrs. Glenador Condreay, La Crescenta, California: three sons, Dale Clark of Mountain Home, Idaho, Bernadean Clark, Fairfax, S. D., and Doracey Clark of Omaha: one sister, Mrs. John Simkins, Sacramento, California.: 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.

Rites Thursday at Norfolk for Mrs Anna CLARK

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Norfolk for Mrs. Anna Clark, 82,
Norfolk, who died Tuesday at a nursing home here. Duane King will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill
Cemetery. She was born Dec. 19, 1882, near Oakdale. She was married to Alvin Clark and had lived in Norfolk since 1948. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Sherman of Pierce, Mrs. Walter Carlson of Norfolk and Mrs. Glenador Condreay of Louisiana: three sons, Dale Clark of Huntington, Ore., Bernadean Clark of Fairfax, S.D. and Dorsay of Omaha. Burial was July14,1966..

CLEMENTENE ROBINSON CLARK

Graveside services for Clementene R CLARK, 72, Collville, Washington, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Oakdale Cemetery. Pastor David SELLERS will officiate. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. She died Monday, September 10, 1990, at a Norfolk hospital. She was born July 8, 1918 at Tifton, Georgia, the daughter of John and Virginia (KELLY) ROBINSON. She was reared in Zolfo Springs, Florida and graduated from high school at Wauchula, Florida. She attended business college and was employed as a teller and bookkeeper for a postal credit union in Miami. She was married May 2, 1947, to Conrad T CLARK at Clewiston, Florida. They lived at Miami until 1969, at Modesto, California until 1980 and then at Colville. Mrs CLARK was a member of the Colville Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include son, David of Moore, Oklahoma, daughters, Lynda martin of Rochelle, Illinois, and Mrs Tim (Beverly) SPRINGER of Meadow Grove, brother, Tilman ROBINSON of Fort McCoy, Florida, sister, Matti Mae NORRIS of Lake Placid, Florida, six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband may 22, 1988, one brother, one sister and one grandson.

CONRAD TODD CLARK

Graveside services for Conrad Todd CLARK, 67, of Colville, Washington, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27 at the Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Albert SEADORE of Neligh officiating. Tim SPRINGER read the obituary while David CLARK gave a scripture reading. Legionairres were pallbearers and military rites were provided by American Legion Post 170 and VFW Post 7603, both of Tilden. Conrad Todd CLARK, son of Edmond Dexter and Martha TODD CLARK, was born September 14, 1920 at Graham, Kentucky and died May 22, 1988 in Colville, Washington. He attended schools in the Clewistown, Florida area and served in India during the Second World War. He was a First Lieutenant in the 726 Operating Railroad Platoon. On May 2, 1947, he married Clementene ROBINSON. He worked for the railroad as a trainmaster and operating manager until retiring from Western Pacific in 1980. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Raymond, and one grandson, Benjamin Noah SPRINGER. Survivors include his wife, Clementene of Colville, Washington, one son, David R. CLARK of Moore, Oklahoma, two daughters, Lynda K MARTIN of Springfield, Illinois and Mrs Tim (Beverly) SPRINGER of Oakdale, four grandchildren, one brother, Edmond CLARK of St Petersburg, Florida, and one half-brother, Robert TOPPER of Fort Pierre, Florida.

GLEN EDWARD CLARK

Abridged: Glen Edward CLARK was born at Tilden, Nebraska March 3, 1905 and passed away at the Tilden Hospital August 12, 1928. In 1920 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Anna THOBEL of Martha, Nebraska. To this union were born two children, Lerora Rose and Arthur James. He spent most of his life near Tilden and Oakdale as an employee with the Northwestern railroad. Glen was the youngest of eleven children. His father and oldest brother preceded him in death. Those who remain to mourn him are his wife, and two children, an aged mother, seven brothers and two sisters: Harve, Ira, William and Sam of Oakdale, Walter of Winner, SD, Frank of Sturgis, SD, Mrs Cary DARE of Winner, SD and Mrs Sylvia SIMPKINS and Alva of Neligh. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren Church Tuesday, August 14, and burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.

JAMES HARVEY CLARK

James Harvey Clark was born October 30, 1882 and died November 5, 1929, at the age of 47 years, 5 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, three daughters, mother, six brothers and two sisters. He, when a child, came with the family to Nebraska from Blanchard, Iowa and has since lived in Antelope County. On February 23, 1904 he married Miss Louella Barnes of Oakdale and to this union three daughters were born, Mrs. Stella
Kirkpatrick, Mrs. Dora Lorenzen and Mrs. Wilma Brenen. and one grandchild. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery

LEORA CLARK

Mrs Leora Clark, 71, passed away at her home Tuesday evening, November 11, 1930, after a weeks illness, death resulting from double pneumonia. She is survived by six sons and two daughters, Alva and Walter and Sylvia SIMPKINS of Neligh, Carrie DARE of Winner, SD, and Frank. Two other sons, Glen and Harvey have died in the last two years. Funeral services will be held at the United Brethren Church this afternoon, November 13 with burial in the Oakdale Cemetery.

WALTER ELI CLARK

Walter Eli CLARK was born April 10, 1891, at Oakdale, Nebraska and departed this life on October 20, 1941, aged fifty years, seven months and ten days. Although in failing health for some time his death was very unexpected and came as a great shock to the entire community. He was married in 1915 to Mable METTEER at Lynch, Nebraska. To this union were born six children, two sons and four daughters, Warren CLARK, Frank CLARK, Nylotis CLARK, Nellie CLARK, Hazel CLARK and Althea CLARK, all of whom, with his wife, survive him. His father, mother and three brothers preceded him in death. Five brothers and two sisters survive, Alva CLARK, William CLARK, Frank CLARK, Ira CLARK, Sam CLARK, Mrs. Carrie DARE and Mrs. Sylvia SIMPKINS. With exception of three years at Lynch, Nebraska, and a few years in South Dakota, Walter’s entire life was spent in or near Oakdale. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. E. DAUGHHETEE at the Methodist church Friday afternoon. Interment was made in the Oakdale cemetery.

Article published October 23, 1941, stated that he was in a boat on the mill pond and may have suffered a heart attack.

William Roscoe CLARK

William Roscoe Clark was born in Indianapolis, IN, March 13, 1851 and died at his home in Oakdale, January 31, 1916. Death was due to pneumonia following an attack of the grip. The deceased removed to Missouri in 1876 and June 10, 1878, at Watson, MO, he was married to Miss Leora Perry. He came to Antelope County on February 27, 1888 and since that date has resided in or near Oakdale. He is survived by his wife and ten children, eight sons and two daughters, namely: Alva David, James Harvey, William VanBuren, Frank Cleveland, Ira Earl, Samuel Robert, Glen Edward, Mrs Carrie Elma Dare, all of this vicinity, Mrs Sylvia Leora Simpkins of Clearwater and Walter Elya of Lynch. The deceased had many friends who will remember him as having been an accommodating neighbor, a good citizen and a steadfast friend. Funeral services were held at the U B Church Wednesday afternoon, the sermon being preached by Rev. A M Steele of the M. E. Church. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
