JAMES CYRUS BLESH

James Cyrus BLESH was born May 21, 1904 at Oakdale and died at a Norfolk Hospital on October 26, 1924 following an illness of a short duration. He was taken ill last Thursday with pneumonia and at the same time blood poisoning developed in the lower lip spreading rapidly to the glands of the neck and face. He was rushed to the Hospital on Saturday evening where efforts were made to alleviate his dangerous condition through an operation on the affected parts. All efforts were futile and he passed away late Sunday afternoon. "Jimmie" as he was known to all his friends, was an ambitious young man, sunny in disposition and acquired friends easily. He was an active member of the Oakdale camp of Modern Woodsmen and in their meetings was an example of a very faithful LODGE member. Kindhearted to an extreme degree, upright in character, manly in all his actions and of stainless integrity, James bore the respect of all who knew him. His large circle of friends was attested by the large numbers attending the last rites which were held at the home Tuesday afternoon. He graduated from the Oakdale High School with the class of 1923, members of which, together with former Teachers, attended the funeral services. Preparation had been made for his entrance into a school at Milwaukee, WI where he had planned to take up a course in civil engineering. Former classmates and schoolmates acted as pallbearers, laying the remains of their departed friend to rest in the beautiful Oakdale Cemetery. He is survived by the parents, Mr and Mrs Frank H Blesh, three sisters, Hazel, Verna and Eunice, and one brother, Robert.
