ELAINE F MEYER BACKER
Funeral services for Elaine F BACKER, 53, of Oakdale, were held Monday, April 13, at St Francis Catholic Church in Neligh. Father Frank BAUMERT officiated. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home of Tilden. Pallbearers were David THOMPSON, Dennis ROSS, Clint WARNEKE, Stanley GRUBB, David SCHARPSMAN and Charles QUALSET. Elaine MEYER, daughter of Milford and Florence TRUBE MEYER, was born March 4, 1945, at Plainview. She graduated from Tilden High School in 1963. On November 7, 1964 she married Raymond BACKER at St Francis Catholic Church in Neligh. The couple lived in Pierce, Norfolk, Tilden, Bartlett, and Stanton before moving to Oakdale in 1988. Mrs. BACKER was a certified nurse’s aid, had been employed at the Tilden Community Hospital and more recently at the Tilden Nursing Center. She also did home health care. She was a member of the Oakdale Fun and Improvement Club and served on the Oakdale Library Board. Mrs. BACKER died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband, her mother, Florence MEYER of Norfolk, two sons and their wives.
