The three year old child of Lute AUSTIN, eight miles south, died Tuesday October 8, 1901 and was buried October 10 in the Oakdale Cemetery.
CHARLIE L. AUSTIN, 1849-1927

Charlie L AUSTIN was born November 17, 1849 in Cain County, Illinois and died August 9, 1927 at the Hospital in Omaha. He grew to manhood near his birthplace and about 1881, he came to Madison County, Nebraska where he lived for some time with his brother, Edwin. He was married to Miss Amanda BODKIN in 18813. No children were born to this union. He and his wife homesteaded in Boone County and about 30 years ago moved to Oakdale where he has since resided. He was usually busy in the community either as a painter, janitor or watchman about the mill property, which trust he held to the time of his sickness and death. He was the ninth of a family to ten children. One brother was in service in the Mexican War and one in the Civil War and one in the hundreds days service. He, by accident, lost one arm when about fifteen years old. As a young man he made a profession of religion. Mr AUSTIN leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one brother, Edwin of Newman Grove, about 30 nieces and nephews who are scattered thru the states. His last illness was of short duration however under the direction of the County board and County purse he had the best possible care. Funeral services were conducted at the house last Thursday afternoon, August 11, and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
JOHN AUSTIN, 1855-1940

John AUSTIN, son of William AUSTIN and Mary Ann AUSTIN, was born at Shellsburg, Wisconsin, on October 10, 1855, and died in Neligh, Nebraska, on October 4, 1940, aged eighty-four years, eleven months and twenty four days. He was second in a family of eleven children, five of whom besides his parents preceded him in death. He spent his boyhood and young manhood at Brownton, Wisconsin, occupied in farming. On January 1, 1885, he was united in marriage to Sophia PARMER of Brownton. The same day they started by train for the new country of Nebraska, arriving in Oakdale and settling on a farm in the Star neighborhood. In 1887 they purchased a farm in that community which continued to be their home for fifty years. Four years ago they went to make their home with Mrs. Williams in Neligh. Besides his wife he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Charlotte BINGER of Grand Rapids, Wisconsin, Mrs. William MARTINDALE and Mrs. Elnora BURKHEAD of Oakdale; one brother, Luther AUSTIN of Red Creek, Canada. Funeral services were held at Neligh Sunday, October 6, with burial in the Oakdale cemetery.
MARY ANN DAY AUSTIN, 1833-1910

Mary Ann AUSTIN was born in Dayton, Ohio May 22, 1833 and died at her home in Antelope County, April 29, 1910. She was married December 25, 1851 to William AUSTIN and the mother of fourteen children. She leaves a husband, six children, two sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held at the home eight miles south of Oakdale, Sunday May 1 at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. E B and Ida CUNNINGHAM. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
SOPHIA PARMER AUSTIN, 1862-1944
Abridged Obituary - The Oakdale Sentinel, Thursday, January 4, 1945
Sophia PARMER was born to Elizabeth and Mason PARMER at Browntown,Wisconsin, on October 22,1862, and departed this life on December 28,1944, at the Old Peoples Institute at St. Edwards, Nebraska, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 6 days. She was the fourth of a family of 13. She grew to womanhood in her native community working in various homes. On January l, 1855, she was united in marriage to John AUSTIN and the same day started, by train, for the new country Nebraska, arriving in Oakdale and settling on a farm in the star neighborhood. In 1887 they purchased a farm in Star and resided there until 1936 when they entered the Mrs. Williams Home for the Aged at Neligh. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, December 30, at the Barnum Funeral Home in Neligh with Rev. ROBBERSON officiating. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
WILLIAM AUSTIN, 1826-1910

Abridged: William AUSTIN died Saturday, December 10, 1910. Mr AUSTIN was born in Plymouth, England on April 15, 1826. When he was 18, he came to America. He lived in Wisconsin for some time and in 1851 was married to Mary Anne DAY. In 1855 they came to Antelope County. Six children survive, two sons and four daughters; Mrs Nat BINGER and Mrs M. L. DRAKE of South Dakota, Luther AUSTIN of Canada, John AUSTIN, Mrs William MARTINDALE and Mrs J. W. BURKHEAD who reside south of Oakdale. Funeral services were held Monday at the home of William MARTINDALE and were conducted by Rev. Mrs BROOKMILLER, assisted by Rev. H. P. LIGHT. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
