John Wyle ANDERSON Rites Held Here Friday
Funeral services for John Anderson were held at the Church of Christ on Friday afternoon, with Rev. Henry Cole in charge. Hymns, "We Are Going Down the Valley, One by One", "Looking This Way", and "There is No Night Tere", were sung by Mrs. Roy Stevens and Mrs. Wm. Mitchell, with Mrs. Clyde Payne accompanying.
Interment was in the Clearwater cemetery, near the grave of his brother, Cress Anderson. Pall Bearers for Mr. Anderson were Guy Miller, D. H. Mcgee, Reid Mummert, John Behnks, Charles Kelly and Claus Behnks. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Delos Thompson and Mrs. Reid Mummert. John Anderson, son of (John) Linton and Belle Anderson, was born August 2, 1881, near Clearwater, Nebraska, and departed this life on January 4, 1953, at the age of 71 years, 5 month and two days. He was taken ill December 22, and passed away at the Tilden Community Hospital. While a young boy he attended the early-day schools of this community. Born of pioneer parents in an area that was just being settled, Mr. Anderson grew up to love the great outdoors and the enjoyment that a new land had to offer in the way of excellent hunting and fishing. On October 24, 1905, he was united in marriage to Katie Kent. To this union five sons were born, Harold Anderson of Los Angeles; Gerald Anderson of North Sacramento, Ca; Earle Anderson of Coquille, Or; Aaron (Nick) Anderson of Klamath Falls, Or; and John Doyle Anderson of Clearwater. Over a long period of years Mr. Anderson was employed by the Western Bridge Company and worked for the firm over most of
northeast Nebraska. However Clearwater was always his home. Through life Mr. Anderson maintained a pioneer characteristic, that of being a friend to everyone. He was preceeded in death by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie
McKim, and two brothers. Surviving are his wife, five sons, thirteen grand children and two great grandsons. His two sons, Earl and Harold were unable to attend.
