Rev. Gotfried Alstadt, abt 1840-1893

Died on Sunday morning, February 5, 1893, at his residence about 3 miles southwest of Oakdale, of dropsey, Rev. G. ALSTADT, aged 53 years. Rev. ALSTADT was pastor of the Evangelical Chuch at this place durin 1887-1888 but because of failing health was compelled to retire from the ministry, since which time he resided at Madison until last autumn when he purchased and moved onto the Rollie HOLMES farm upon which he resided at the time of his death. His first wife, it will be remembered, died while he was pastor at this place. He leaves his 2nd wife, whom he married about 3 years ago, to mourn his loss. The remains were interred in the Oakdale Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon after which the funeral services were held in the Evanglical Church, Rev. FEUHRER, Pastor in Charge, officiating. A brother of the deceased and wife of Madison came up on Monday, returning Wednesday. The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community.
