Norman P. Foss entered the service in May 1942 and took training in Mississippi.  He served in the South Pacific at the 105th General Hospital.  He was discharged in 1945.  He married Sylvia Garland and they returned to Tilden where they farmed south of town.  He left the farm and served as a Pastor for 27 years.  He passed away on April 14, 1988.  They had four children.
