Wayne T. Farber was commissioned as an officer in the U S Naval Reserve in 1942 and was called into active service on July 8, 1942.  He served at the Brooklyn Naval Yard and Office of Naval Industrial Management in California.  He was placed on inactive duty on February 17, 1946.  When his father retired as owner of Farber’s Clothing Store in Neligh, Wayne and his wife, Jayne, returned to Neligh and owned and operated the store for 32 years.  He served as Neligh councilman for four years and they retired to Texas.
