Wayne P. Fallesen, son of Peter and Anna Fallesen of Neligh, Nebraska, entered the Army Air Forces in July 1942.  He took training in Texas and Illinois and then to Florida.  After more training he was sent to Scotland in 1943.  On March 4, 1944 his plane was shot down and he was captured.  He was transported to Stalag IV and then to Stalag XIIID.  On Easter Sunday of 1945, he was put on march to Stalag VIIA in Austria from which he was liberated on April 29, 1945. He was returned to the States and rehabilitated in Colorado.  He was discharged in September 1945.
