Bernard T. Evans graduated from Oakdale, Nebraska High School in 1940.  He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on October 10, 1942 and served in the US, New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II.  During the Korean Conflict he served in Korea and Japan and later in Vietnam and Thailand.  He retired December 1, 1970 with 28 years of active duty.  After retirement, he worked for the Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in California.
