Clifford V. Drake was inducted into the Army on February 18, 1942 and took basic in California.  He was assigned to Company C, 310th Infantry Battalion, 78th Division.  He served in the Pacific and in Europe.  He was wounded in Europe and received the Purple Heart.  He was discharged October 7, 1945.  He farmed before service and worked for Armour and Company in Omaha after returning.  He died October 18, 1956.
