Donald P. Christiansen

Donald P. Christiansen enlisted in the US Navy in April 1942 and took training at Great Lakes, Illinois. He transferred to Butler University for communications school and then to Little Creek, Virginia for amphibious training. He served on numerous LST, LCT’s and Etc. He participated in the Invasion of Sicily, Salerno and Anzio, Italy and France. He then spent 15 months in the Pacific at Guam, Leyte, Philippines and occupation of Japan. He was discharged in January 1946. He attended school in Omaha and worked for the Postal Department for two years. He went into private business in 1948. He is semi-retired, living in Neligh. |
