Albert H. Chavet enlisted in the Navy on November 5, 1942.  He took basic at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago.  He had advanced training at 87th Anthony in Chicago.  He was stationed in the Pacific and Florida.  He was discharged on October 4, 1945.  He operated a welding and repair shop in Brunswick after the war and was a rural mail carrier for 30 years in Plainview where he and his wife, Leota Fredinburg live.
