Robert P. Beach enlisted in the U S Army on June 16, 1938 and served with Company L of the 17th Infantry, 7th Division.  He was sent to Monterey, California to activate Fort Ord.  He was discharged June 15, 1941 and he reenlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 23, 1941.  He departed overseas to the South Pacific and served 26 months.  In  1951 he served in the Korean War with the 27th Fighter Wing.  He transferred to England in 1955.  He returned to Fort Worth, Texas and retired on February 1, 1970 after 32 years of service.
