Wilfred Jerome Barton, son of Alfred and Mary Croghan Barton, was born May 1, 1917.  He enlisted in the Army Air Corps after Pearl Harbor and served with the 376th Bomb Squadron.  He was taken prisoner in Germany on December 24, 1944.  He married Dorothy Bader November 24, 1945 at Holyoke, Massachusetts.  The family lived in Lincoln, Nebraska where he worked at the Lincoln Air Base and then moved to California to work at Edwards Air Force Base.  He died on October 14, 1986.
