John Q. Ingram was an Antelope County Judge for many years. From “History of Antelope County 1985” the following is provided.
Probably the life of no other individual was so closely woven into the history and life of Antelope County as that of County Judge Ingram. He went to school in a sod schoolhouse in District #75 and #79. He attended high school for two years when the Clearwater High School was a ten grade school and was a graduate at Clearwater. Later he was the Principal of Clearwater and Brunswick schools. He was a farmer, bank clerk, banker and judge for 26 years. As judge, he married about seventeen hundred county citizens and helped countless bereaved ones settle estates of their loved ones. He lived on a farm 10 miles north of Clearwater where his parents homesteaded in 1880. Judge Ingram was certainly a son of Antelope County who had grown to maturity and honor in his native community. |
