George and Mary Yeoman came from Illinois to Nebraska in
1877. They lived for a time in Pierce
County and later near Raeville. After
a period of time, they moved to Oakdale and Tilden. The Yeomans in Illinois were not pleased to see their daughter
leave for the wilderness and poverty of Nebraska as they were a well-known
affluent family in Illinois. George
and Mary had one daughter, nine months old, when they made the trip. In Nebraska sons, Clyde and Will were
born. Ida married Frank Bassett and
they lived in Tilden until their deaths.
