Max Robert Wilkinson was born December 12, 1918 at Oakdale, Nebraska. He was the son of John Wilkinson and Johannah Retzlaff. Irene Elizabeth Von Bonn was born November 5, 1920 in Petersburg, Nebraska to Bernard Von Bonn and Theresia Tunink. Max and Irene were married on December 31, 1941 in Elgin. They farmed for several years southwest of Elgin. Later they moved to a farm northwest of Elgin. They were blessed with six children: Ronald Lee, Gary Duane, Max Marvin, Patricia Ann, Earl Dean and Lois Charlene. Ronald Lee married Sharon Kay Sheets, daughter of Lester Sheets and Loretta Sparks. Max Marvin married Taresa Ann Verplank, daughter of Mark Verplank and Mary Shaupe. Patricia Ann died early in life in 1948. Earl Dean married Linda Kay Brittell, daughter of Leland Brittell and Evelena Halsey. Lois Charlene married Alan Dean Buffington, son of John Buffington and Esther Key.
