Harry Willard Wilkinson was born at Oakdale, Nebraska on January 28, 1906 to John Mitford Wilkinson and Johannah Edith Retzlaff. He married Anna Elizabeth Weeder, daughter of Rudolph Adolph Weeder and Mary Etta Merchant. She was born on October 31, 1911 in Wheeler County, Nebraska. The couple farmed for several years in the Oakdale and Elgin areas until moving in to Oakdale in 1947 where they operated the Oakdale Café for many years. They were the parents of nine children: Marietta Kay married Raymond Crosier, Betty Claire married Ottfried Buelter, Barbara Ann married Eldon Marsh, Harriet Lee married Donald Marsh and Mel Smith, Robert Harry married Hilde Hamp, John Charles married Nancy Kempton, Cheryl Diane married Donald Wood, Mark David married
