Glenn was born at Brush Creek, Iowa in 1872 and came with
his parents to a homestead southwest of Clearwater, Nebraska in 1883. Glenn married Lois Jennie Durham whose
family had settled in the same area. They lived on a farm northwest of Elgin
where four of their children were born: Maude, Fern, Mossie and Rolland. In the interest of schooling, they moved to Elgin in 1908. Two more children were born: Edmund and Harold. Glenn sold implements, harness and shoes
in Elgin. The six children attended
Elgin Public schools and graduated from high school. Maude, Fern, and Mossie all taught
school. Fern married Roy D Conger and
Mossie married A Hawley Merchant. Rolland was also a teacher and married Vashti S Rickerson. Harold taught school and married Lillian
Fisher. Edmund married Grace A
Brookhauser and was employed at the Henney Drug Store. Glenn Wilcox died September 6, 1944 and
Lois on June 10, 1955.
