Harold Wayne Tierney, son of George Tierney and Elsie
Peets, was born on June 9, 1915 at Oakdale, Nebraska. He was raised on a farm south of Oakdale
and attended school at District #127. On March 1935, he married Lavaugne Wheeler, daughter of Leslie Wheeler
and Sylvia Evans. She was born on
December 20, 1916 at Spalding, Nebraska. They lived in Elgin until 1935 when they moved to California where
they worked in the barrel industry. Harold served in the Navy Seabees from 1945 to 1946. After his discharge they moved back to
Nebraska and lived in the Elgin area.
