EDWARD GUY TAYLOR, son of Edward Lee Taylor and Lyde Davis Cokely, was born on September 1, 1895 in Brownsville, Tennessee. When in his teens, the family moved to Springdale, Arkansas where Edward attended and graduated from Springdale High School. He entered the service in World War I and served in the navy. After his service, Edward visited his brother Raymond in Oakdale, Nebraska. Raymond owned half interest in a dry goods store and wanted Edward to stay and to purchase half of his interest in the business. The early 1920’s were prosperous years and then came the stock market crash and drought of the 30’s. On June 14, 931, Edward Guy Taylor married Charlotte Clemensen. They were partners in the store with Raymond until 1956 when it closed. Edward and Charlotte were parents of one son, Kerry. Edward died on June 18, 1966.
