MAN HAS BOTH LEGS AMPUTATED
Fred Sholes, of Ewing, and well known at this place, had both legs amputated at the local hospital, Wednesday morning of this week. Mr. Sholes had been suffering from gangrene in his legs, for a number of weeks and it was decided that the amputation was necessary. Both legs were removed between the hip and knee. A spinal anesthetic was used and during the operation Mr. Sholes was able to talk to the doctors and nurses and was conscious of what was being done during the entire operation. Regardless of the fact that he is 65 years of age, he withstood the operation in excellent shape, and was feeling bright the following morning.
