*Note* - Body later removed to West Cedar Valley Cemetery, Elgin, Nebraska, with the combined headstone of her mother, Elizabeth Alderson. Elizabeth Morrissey’s marriage certificate states both mother and daughter as having the same names – Elizabeth Harriet Alderson.
MARRIED: to James F. Morrissey, who was born Finnemore, Grant County Wisconsin.
When Elizabeth Morrissey passed away, her husband gave their two boys to the Grandmother (Mrs. Elizabeth Alderson.) When she passed away in 1897, the young George Morrissey went to live with an uncle, James Alderson & his family. Young Earl Morrissey went to live with Ben & Lucinda (Alderson) Cooper. Earl lived with this aunt & uncle until he was 17 years old, when he went to Iowa to “make it on his own.” *Note*: In May of 1910 the Federal Census, Plymouth County IA, Elgin Township – Earl Morrissey, age 20, Single, is enumerated as a “servant” farm labor and living in the farm household of (head) August Witt, (wife) Nellie, (dau) Minnie, age 18, (son) Lester, age 2. *Note* Earl Morrissey & Minnie Mae Witt marry at some point and they have a son (Eldred Earl Morrissey) born 11 Nov 1911, LeMars, Iowa.
