Seth Miller was the son of Earl Gregory Miller and Charity Jane Hawley. Earl and Charity were married in Walton, New York on June 6, 1841. They moved to Chickasaw County, Iowa in the early 1850’s. At that time there were four children, Earl Gregory Jr, Mary Ester, Issac L, and Martha. Seth married Ida V. Foster in January, 1905 and they had five children: Harold married Anna Kholer, one son, Garold; Flossie married George Mapes, four children; Luella, John, Cleo and Blanche; Harley married Mildred Hauser and they had four children: Joyce, Verle, Frances and Harley; Floyd married Garnet Maulding and they had three children, Barbara, Jerry and Lonny; Cecil married Mary Roberts and they had three children, Linda, Gaylen, and Cheryl. Seth lived on the original farm until his death and all the family was raised there. Earl Miller Sr. died in January,1902. Charity died in December, 1907. Earl and Charity, as well as most of their children, are buried in the Clearwater Cemetery.
