Henry William Lubken was born March 21, 1858 in Abberhauserhorne, Germany. Louise Gesine Freiderika Sommer was born February 2, 1864 in Syyggevarderwish, Germany. Henry was an Army officer and at the age of 27 he decided to get out of the army and go to America. Henry and Louise were married on March 19, 1886 at Freiborg, Germany. They left by ship from Bremen in 1886 and arrived in Maryland. They came to Battle Creek, Nebraska where Louise had a distant relative. Later they came to Neligh where they farmed all their lives. They settled on a farm southwest of Neligh for their first home. Their children: Henry William Edo Lubken (1886-1921); Henry (1888-1962); twins, William John Carl (1890-1954) and Louise Wilhelmenia Marie (1890-1948); twins, Theodore John (1892-1972) and Bertha Theodora (1892-1939) were born there. The family moved to a farm north of Neligh where their children: stillborn boy (1897); Ora Olga Sophia (1898-1982); Alma Frieda Marie (1900-1974) and Arthur Alfred William (1906-1974) were born. Henry died April 19, 1935 and Louise on September 15, 1944. Edo, a mechanic, married but had no children. Henry married Pearl Barnes, three children. William married Edna Cain, eight children; Louise married Floyd Wilson, six children; Theodore married Katherine Ryan, two children; Bertha married Oscar Thorin, no children; Olga married Phillip Reutzel, three children; Alma married William Reutzel, two children; Alfred married Frances Vogt, two children, married Faye Freeland, three children.
