Thomas Hans, son of Lorenz Lorenzen and Bothilde Hansen, was born in Kolkerheide, Germany on July 6, 1884. The family immigrated to America and temporarily settled in Platte Center, Nebraska. Later they homesteaded in the Dutch Hollow area of Antelope County. Lorenz Lorenzen died in 1902. Thomas had to work to help his mother raise the six other children. Ingaborg Margeretha Peterson, daughter of Peter and Margaretha Peterson, and Thomas were married on July 10, 1906. They first homesteaded his father’s place and then moved southeast of Neligh. They were parents of three sons and one daughter. Victor Stanley, born June 3, 1907, married Zora Kirk, two children, Victor died 1975, Zora died 1982; Maggie born April 22, 1908 died 1908; Lyle Lorenz, born February 2, 1910, served WWII; and Wayne Albert, born February 12, 1912, married Jennetta Forslund, two children. Margaretha died on February 19, 1918, and Thomas married Edith Beatrice Bickford, daughter of Edwin Bickford and Harriet Folz. Edith died in 1974. Their children were: Theoron Thomas served in WWII; Maryhelen married Carl Hubel; Loren, served in WWII, married LaVonne Grubb; and Lorraine married Tom Kemler.
