Andrew Olson Linnaus came to the United States in 1868 from Sweden and settled in Chicago, Illinois. He was born on September 30, 1843 at Gelfborgs Land, Sweden. He worked in Arkansas, Louisiana and other southern states before moving to Fairfield, Iowa. He attended school and was a qualified pharmacist.
In 1876, Andrew, Ebenezer Comstolk, and James J Jeffers came to Antelope County where they filed on homesteads. Andrew settled about seven miles south of Oakdale, Nebraska. Matilda Swanson was born in Kisa Ostergarth, Sweden on June 25, 1850 and came to America in 1875. Andrew and Matilda were married in 1899. They were the parents of Fred D Linnaus. His parents lived on the homestead until their deaths. Fred D was born on April 8, 1890 and was married to Ida J Jensen. She died on March 5, 1951 and Fred on December 13, 1982. They were parents of three children: Lloyd, died in infancy; Alida Linnaus and Vern F Linnaus. Alida had two children and Vern three. Alida and Vern have both passed away.
