Norman, oldest son of Sidney Glen Larabee (1905) and Mabel Behrens (1908) was born July 29, 1935 in Ainsworth, Nebraska and lived on a farm. He attended country school through the eighth grade. Norman had two brothers, Marvin Charles Larabee and Louis Leroy Larabee. His only sister died at birth. Norman graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1953. After graduation he worked with a construction crew. He enlisted in the U S Army in 1956 and served with the Adjutant General Corps. He married Lorideen May Bejot on December 25, 1956. She was the fourth child of Jesse Francis Bejot and Leah Ida Primmer, born on April 3, 1938. She had four brothers, Francis Edwin, Dennis David, Lewis Eugene and Victor Calvin, and one sister, Mary Lou. Lorideen graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1956. In 1957, Norman was assigned to the 24th Artillery Group in Swathmore, Pennsylvania. Lorideen joined him and they lived in Penns Grove, New Jersey. Their son Randolph Kent Larabee was born in 1958. Norman reenlisted for three more years in 1959 and they moved to Kansas where son, Michael Bruce was born in 1960. After his discharge, the family returned to Ainsworth and then to Neligh where they opened the Coast to Coast Store. Their son, Phillip Craig was born in 1965. All three sons graduated from Neligh High School. Randolph married Beth Elaine Montgomery. He graduated from the University of Nebraska and Beth received an associate of arts from Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. Michael graduated from the University of Nebraska. His fiancé, Lynne Renee Conser graduated from Wayne State College and works in the education field. Phillip is also attending school in Lincoln.
