Ruel Harrison Lamson, son of Thadius Lamson and Caroline Boyd, was born in September 1879 in Stuhen County, Indiana. He was nickname “Tom” by his father and was known as Tom by all you knew him. He came to Neligh, Nebraska with his parents in 1880 and lived continuously in Antelope County. He worked on his father’s farm until his mother’s death and then moved to a farm of his own north of Elgin. He was married to Fanny Agnes Wuggint on March 1, 1911. She was born in New York on March 8, 1886. She had a brother, William, and they were adopted by Mr and Mrs William Wuggint of Neligh. Tom raised hogs all year around. He and his brother, Will, bought and fed cattle. His older brother, John, was an abstractor in Neligh for many years. Tom almost died of the flu in 1918. Fanny died on August 3, 1930. Tom continued to farm until health reasons caused him to move into Neligh and then he made his home with his daughter, Doris of Brunswick. He died at the Tilden Hospital on February 11, 1947. Tom and Fanny had six children: Bernard, Mildred, Hilda, Laura, William, Mary and Doris. Thadius Lamson was born on March 11, 1846 and died on July 16, 1936.
