Daniel Brennaman was the son of Daniel and Mary Brennaman and born in Ohio on March 28, 1861. He grew to manhood in Dayton, Iowa. He married Mary Elizabeth Springer of Lehigh, Iowa on September 10, 1884. Mary Elizabeth was a school teacher in Dayton prior to her marriage.
They lived in Iowa until 1892 when they came to Oakdale, Nebraska. They purchased a farm south of town and were very successful farmers. In 1907, they retired and moved into Oakdale where they built two houses. They were living in the smaller of the two when Daniel died on March 30, 1930. He had suffered from asthma for many years. Daniel had two brothers, Fred and Samuel, and five sisters, Anna, Emma, Sadie, Mary, and Louise. Mr and Mrs Daniel Brennaman of Oakdale had four children. They were Orville, Fern, Sylvia and Lloyd. Mary Elizabeth Brennaman died on September 1, 1946. Orville Willie Brennaman was born on September 14, 1893 in Oakdale. He married Mayme Lagg of Cambria, Wyoming in Deadwood, South Dakota in 1918. They lived all their married life in Newell, South Dakota. Fern Rebecca Brennaman was born on September 17, 1896 in Oakdale. She married Alton H Brown of Oakdale. They had three children: Melvin Leroy, Viola Mary and Orville. Sylvia Mary Brennaman was born April 2, 1902 in Oakdale and married Dewey Ives of Oakdale on July 18, 1917. They had two children: Genevieve Lois and Theda Mae. Lloyd Daniel Brennaman was born in Oakdale on May 27, 1904 and married Jessie Ione Goulding of Tilden on November 5, 1925 in Neligh. They had one daughter, Betty Lue. Lloyd died on Aprl 5, 1978 and Jessie on December 17, 1979. Both are buried in Kearney, Nebraska.
