Arthur Braband was born June 1, 1912 on a farm in Boone County. He grew to manhood in Antelope County on the family farm. He worked on various farms around Elgin and met his wife, June Schmidt. They were married on February 22, 1941 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin where they had gone to work. They returned to Nebraska where they farmed for a few years west of Elgin. Art worked in Elgin in 1943 and then went back to farming in 1949 on a farm northeast of Elgin. They farmed for17 years. In 1966 they moved to Elgin and in 1975 moved to the Schmidt farm to aid June's mother.
