Jasper N. Aubert was born in Van Wert, Ohio, November 3, 1852 to William and Phoebe Carle Aubert. His father came to America at the age of 14 from Germany. William died when Jasper was two years old and his mother died when he was 13.
In 1874, he came to Saline County, Nebraska and later to Antelope County, filing for a homestead and a timber claim in 1880. He married Lucy Fletcher in 1884 and three sons and one daughter were born to them; Roy, Oscar, Edgar and Esther. He had years of hardship of hail, drought, and blizzards. He died in 1922 and his wife in 1934. Edgar bought the farm and is married to Martha Kuhns.
