Emil Ahlers was born February 11, 1902 , to Mr and Mrs Otto Ahlers Sr. at Tama, Iowa. He came to Nebraska with his family when he was two years old. The family consisted of eleven children. Three died while very small. Brothers are Otto, Rudy and one sister, Clara Loseke.
