ABE O. DISRUD
Abe served in World War I and lived for a time in Selfridge. He was born 13 October 1888 and died 29 November 1970. He is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Seattle, King County, Washington. See Burial. See Selfridge Golden Jubilee book for several references to the Disrud families.

WALLACE J. DEMERY

In some records his name is Joseph W. Demery.
Wallace was born on 23 August 1921 to Joseph and Martha Halsey Demery. His siblings included Louisa (1907) and Catherine (1909). Louisa married Albert M. Deucheneau/Ducheneau/Deusheneau. Catherine married Floyd M. Bardsley.
Wallace joined the U. S. Army in World War II from Sioux County. He was a Private in the 325th Air Service Group. He died in a non-battle episode while the group was at the USAAF Langford Lodge in Northern Ireland on 20 October 1944. He was enroute to AAF Greencastle in a weapons carrier truck to deliver a much needed aircraft part. Unfortunately the truck hit an embankment, and overturned, injuring him. He was taken to the 36th Station Hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries on the same day. His military funeral was held at Lisnabreeny Cemetery on 22nd October. 30 officers and enlisted men were in attendance.
Wallace was reinterred at Arlington National Cemetery. Burial, Tombstone Picture.


WILLIAM FINDLAY DRUM

William was born 16 November 1833 in New York, New York County, New York. He entered Company F 2nd Infantry on 29 April 1861. On 5 August 1861 he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. On 9 October 1861 to 1st Lieutenant. On 1 May 1863 to Captain. On 2 December 1864 to Brevet Major. On 1 April 1865 to Lieutenant Colonel and on 29 May 1865 to Colonel. William died on 4 July 1892 while Commanding Officer of Fort Yates. He was originally buried at Fort Yates Post Cemetery. On 10 December 1892 he was disinterred and buried at Arlington National Cemetery. At each burial memorial there is more biography written on him.
