GOLDEN VALLEY: This post office was established May 11, 1909, with George Bratzell postmaster, who chose a name descriptive of the location in the Knife River valley. In 1913 it moved one mile south to E ½ Sec. 15-144-90, where the NPRR had established a townsite. The elevation is 1946, and the peak population of 400 was reported in 1940.

~Photo found in an old scrapbook owned by the parents of Phil Hahn. Can anyone out there help by providing more information about any family connection to the Hahn family? Or maybe others of you might have other Golden Valley photos to share? Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated. Email the County Coordinator, Linda Ziemann
