Fred Miller & Ella WolfFred Miller, son of Gottlieb and Matilda (Priebe) Miller, was born in 1901 in Krem. He married Ella Wolf, daughter of Christian and Julieanne (Fran) Wolf in 1925. She was born in 1904 in Hazen. They settle on a farm about 11 miles northeast of Hazen. Fred and Ella had 10 children: Irene (Richter), 1926; Leland, 1928; Vernon, 1930; June (Prowse), 1931; Howard, 1933; Allen, 1934; Stanley, 1936; Dallas, 1938; Arlo, 1941; and Wayne, 1943. They were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Krem and later Peace Lutheran Church. Over the years, Fred served on the Farmers’ Union Oil board, Farmers’ Elevator board, and director of Rural Electric Association. In 1963, they moved to Kent, Washington. Fred died in 1972 and Ella lives in Puyallup, Wash. Fred’s father died in 1949; his mother in 1925.
