Edward & Regina KnechtEdward Knecht was born in 1891 in Besarabia, Russia, to Christopher and Christina (Machau) Knecht. He came to America when he was eight and was a farmer most of his life. Regina, daughter of Peter and Margaret (Morast) Sailer, was born in 1900, in Crimea, South Russia. She was five years old when she came to America. They had seven children: Ruth (Anderson), 1920; Adolf, 1922; Armin, 1924, deceased; Lillian (Dimaggio), 1927; Helmuth, 1929; Paul, 1933, and Edwin, 1937, died at birth. Edward’s father died in 1958; his mother in 1954.
